SBBD’s founders personally experienced the challenges associated with slow software development. During a time-sensitive project, Spence, Rama, and Milfar recognized that traditional development methods were overly time-consuming and monotonous. It became evident that speed was of the utmost importance. In 2006, while working for TRIRIGA (now IBM TRIRIGA), the founders introduced one of the pioneering rapid development platforms. This innovation streamlined software development processes, significantly enhancing the company's efficiency.

In 2011, IBM acquired TRIRIGA, acknowledging the value brought by the rapid development platform. Realizing that the issue of slow and expensive software development extended far beyond their personal experience, the founders were determined to address this problem on a larger scale.

Software Built By Design (SBBD) emerged in 2014 with a clear mission: to promptly and affordably provide clients with exceptional software solutions. Having collaborated on various ventures for over two decades, the founders played instrumental roles in the development of IBM Smarter Planet, Google Quickoffice, and projects with LexisNexis.

Over the years, we have empowered organizations to train their employees, digitize their services, streamline processes, and deliver value to customers. Our core belief is that customers should receive what they want and not be limited by software providers. Software development should be customer-centric, robust, devoid of risks, and considerably faster than traditional approaches.
